What information is in the various reports produced by SocSciBot Tools?

Generic reports

Report name	Information in report
ADM count summary	Inlink counts The number of links to each site crawled from the other sites crawled, as counted by pages, directories, domains and sites. Outlink counts The number of links from each site crawled to the other sites crawled, as counted by pages, directories, domains and sites.
Page and link counts	The number of web pages in each crawl. The number of links found in the web pages of each crawl
File interlinking (old name: File document counts from-to)	For each pair of crawled sites, this gives the number of links, counted page-by-page. In other words it is the number of pairs of pages with a link from the first to the second - this is the standard way of counting links.
Directory interlinking (old name: Directory document counts from-to)	For each pair of crawled sites, this gives the number of links, counted directory-by-directory. It is the number of pairs of directories with a link from the first to the second (directory ADM).
Domain interlinking (old name: Domain document counts from-to)	For each pair of crawled sites, this gives the number of links, counted domain-by-domain. It is the number of pairs of domains with a link from the first to the second (domain ADM).
Site interlinking (old name: Site document counts from-to)	For each pair of crawled sites, this is 1 if the first site contains 1 or more links to the second, otherwise it is 0 (site ADM).
All external links	A list of all links except site self-links.
Selected external links (old name: Known external links)	A list of all links from each site to the other sites crawled. Excludes site self-links.
Selected external links with counts (old name: Known external links with counts)	As above except with counts of links.
Unselected external links (old name: Unknown external links)	A list of all links from each site to other sites except the crawled sites.
Unselected external links with counts (old name: Unknown external links with counts)	As above except with counts of links.
Raw data files	The basic data from SocSciBot that has been processed to produce all of the SocSciBot Tools reports.

Reports based upon standard link options

The standard options are to analyse only links between the different web sites crawled.

Random links	A list of links between sites randomly selected, 20 per site. This is for research content analysis purposes.
All links	A list of all links that match the current project options [introduced only with SocSciBot 4]
All links with counts	As above except with counts of links.[introduced only with SocSciBot 4]
Network for whole project	[In the whole site network tab in SocSciBot Tools] A network of the links between the crawled sites	For large sites, it is useful to change to domain or site level to avoid getting graphs that are too large If interested in the connections between the crawled sites and all other sites, change to "links to uncrawled sites" only and also change from "file" to "site" link counting.
Network for individual sites	[In the individual site networks tab in SocSciBot Tools] For each site, a network of the links from that site to pages in any of the other sites	For large sites, it is useful to change to domain or site level to avoid getting graphs that are too large If interested in the structure of individual sites, change to "site self-links" only If interested in the connections between the crawled sites and all other sites, change to "links to uncrawled sites" only and also change from "file" to "site" link counting.
Raw data with current options	For each site, a list of the pages in that site and all the links in the pages that point to pages in other crawled sites. This is the data used to calculate all of the reports in this table.
